Limhamn was originally one of Scandinavia’s leading fishing villages, which later became a mining, cement and industrial community. Referencing the area’s industrial history, the harbour in Limhamns Sjöstad has in recent years been transformed into Malmö’s new urban district. Along the harbour front and out towards the Sound, ALFA Development has developed and built Kajkanten, which consists of the three development projects called Styrbord, Babord and Karnaphuset. Throughout the project, ALFA Development has worked closely with Malmö City’s urban development team to meet and even exceed the local authority’s vision for the development of Limhamn’s historic area.

A consistent focus for all three projects has been the combination of Danish design and Swedish functionality. Styrbord, consisting of 67 homes, was sold and delivered in 2020. Babord consists of 54 homes and was delivered in 2022. The third project, Karnaphuset, consists of seventy homes and was delivered in early spring 2024.

Kajkanten caters to couples, singles and families with children. With its charm and idyllic atmosphere, situated on the edge of the sea and with Malmö within easy reach, quality of life is a central quality of this development.
