Jan Kristensen, who has been at the helm of ALFA Development for the past three years, has decided to resign from his position as CEO and will join the company's Board from 1 May.

"Jan has done a great job in strengthening our portfolio of exciting development projects as well as acquisitions and sales of land and properties. We respect his decision and look forward to benefiting from his strong skills in i.a. asset management, now from a position in the Board," says Andreea Kaiser, Head of the Board.

The changes in the management coincide with an adjustment of the strategy at ALFA Development that in recent years has been at full speed with the acquisition of sites in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Stockholm as well as completing major projects in IrmaByen, Lyngby, Herlev and Malmö.

As a result of the current market trend with declining house prices and high construction prices, ALFA Development is now concentrating its efforts on the development of its newly acquired sites. In addition, further development and marketing of the company's strong concepts within co-living is prioritized.

According to Jan Kristensen, the change in strategy is a good time for a redeployment in the management which can further focus on competencies in urban-, real estate- and concept development.

"I am happy and proud to have taken part in developing ALFA Development into its current strong position with an exciting portfolio. Now it is time to execute on the development of the relatively large areas both in and around Copenhagen which we have bought in recent years. This is the right time for me to move on and I am delighted that I can contribute to the further development of the company in my new role in the Board ," says Jan Kristensen

The recruitment of a replacement for Jan Kristensen has begun and is expected to be in place soon.
